Why I'll Never Stop Being An Intern

Well this feels strange, it has definitely been a while since I last posted something original but you may have noticed the layout of the blog has had a bit of makeover and I'm so pleased to be getting back into blogging properly. Since I last posted in July I graduated from Birmingham City University which was quite possibly one of the proudest days of my life and it was really special to be able to share it with my family and close friends. I went to Florida for nearly three weeks on a huge *and well needed* family holiday, made some amazing memories just by having the four of us all together for such a good amount of time. Finally I've moved in with my best friend into my first flat and I'm absolutely loving it. Having a space of my own so quickly after graduating makes me so pleased I didn't wait to start working, being able to decorate my own space has felt so special and living with Jazz *aka JasmineHardingMakeup* has just made it all the more exciting.
So my reasons behind rebooting the blog are that A) I truly miss creating content, having such a positive creative outlet was always such an escape for me and something I could put my time into that was truly mine and that made me really proud. B) Writing, working in marketing I'm constantly writing, whether that be emails or press releases or creative briefs and I'm very aware that the more consistently I write the better my writing is. So getting back into writing regular content is hopefully going to benefit my mind, work, and soul.

For years this blog has been known as The Intern Diaries, and whilst I am no longer an intern, I do not plan on changing the name anytime soon. The reason I started this blog in the first place was to create content for young people like myself who are looking keep their enthusiasm going and their inspiration ignited, and over the years I have worked at many amazing companies, either as an intern or as a junior, and without being cliche I truly learnt the value of being an intern.

The qualities of a good intern are;
- they never stop asking to learn, but they are also willing to accept what they do not know
- they're never afraid of getting their hands dirty or to take on a task "beneath them"
- they're involved in all aspects of the business
- they never stop asking questions

The more I thought about these things the more I realized that I don't ever want to lose my "intern" mentality, all of the qualities that I'd read made a good intern were all things I truly believe we should all be striving to do in every stage of our careers. I plan on writing more about my experiences as an intern soon but for today I think that accurately sums up why I'm proud to have an intern mentality and why this blog will remain "The Intern Diaries"...at least for now.
The kind of content I'm hoping to post will at first be weekly and more lifestyle-focused posts. I'm changing it up and trying to post more quality and lengthy posts rather than just a paragraph and a picture style. Expect some cooking posts, home decor, and a lot more travel as well as the usual, career and study based posts and beauty!

You may have noticed on the home page there's now an option to sign up for an email newsletter, I'm planning on starting monthly email newsletters, featuring exclusive content, the months best beauty buys, any good discount codes I've found, things like that. Be sure to sign up so you don't miss out and I hope you're all looking forward to the new content coming up!
