Since starting university in September I've had to adapt my note taking style to suit university life. When I got my new laptop ready for university and I loaded it with Microsoft office, I discovered One Note. This is the best program for keeping notes during lectures and seminars and it makes it really easy to organise my notes.

The way one note works is that its separated into "notebooks" and then again into chapters and then pages. This method works so nicely, I separate my notes into modules, and then by week and I have different pages within that for lecture/seminar ect. This keeps all the info in one place and makes it easy to track down things I wrote down.

Another good feature of the program is the ability to use a clipboard. The pages aren't as structured as Microsoft word or PowerPoint, its flexible so you can paste images and text into any space on the page and easily edit the pages and the text size.

One Note is available with most office packages and I really recommend it for any students! Whether you're degree level or not.
